The American Green Tree Frog is the official state amphibian of Louisiana. It is a nocturnal species that has smooth skin and large toe pads. Males have wrinkled throats which indicates the vocal pouch, and are slightly smaller than females. Much of the state was formed from sediment washed down the Mississippi River, leaving enormous deltas and vast areas of coastal marsh and swamp, making it no mystery as to why there is such a wide variety of tree frogs, birds, and fish.Print Collection has commissioned artist Julian Montague to create our State of America series. These bright, bold, graphic images iconicize the quirky Official State Insignias from around the nation. Red States and Blue States may now be a thing of the past.
