About
George Bain started the Bain News Service in 1898 with a majority of image covering New York City. This "Photography News Service" was the first of it's kind to cover world news events in what we now see as the classic distributed model. He sent images to various papers in the US and abroad and received their local photos back as part of the distributed model. Ver similar to Associated Press that survives today.
